| Crux can provide part marking equipment as in-line cells or stand-alone stations, using either laser or ink jet technology. Ink jet technology can usually be deployed at a lower cost, but requires more maintenance once installed. Marking is also generally less legible, and should not be used for critical applications, where precise traceability is required. Laser technology is generally more expensive to deploy, but provides great value under operation. However, the materials to be marked should always be tested to ensure that laser marking will work, and the mark provides the appropriate look, visibility and contrast.
