Advanced sensors are used to measure and gage part features that cannot be measured with machine vision, either because the feature cannot be imaged properly, or because the accuracy requirements are too stringent. Laser sensors, in particular, are excellent for near-micron-level measurements of displacements and relative heights. We have used them extensively to gage parts passing through a cell, or to locate surfaces prior to precision dispensing or assembly tasks. Some of the advanced sensors typically used by Crux Engineering are listed below:
- Laser Triangulation Sensors;
- High Accuracy Proximity Sensors;
- Capacitative Sensors;
- Laser Doppler Vibrometers.
